JTB Royal Road Ginza Osaka, which caters to the wealthy, opened on December 11th in Hilton Plaza West (Kita-ku, Osaka), which houses luxury brand shops. The new store has been relocated from Higashi Umeda and expanded with the addition of three private reception rooms. The new store has an area of approximately 144 square meters. Large screen monitors are installed in the private rooms, and reservations are required to allow for leisurely travel consultations. The store has 17 staff members with cruise advisor and in-house qualifications, and responds to requests from the luxury segment, including senior citizens who have inherited assets and have money and time to spare, business owners, and inbound tourists, including executives of foreign companies. At the opening of the new store to the press the day before the opening, JTB Executive Officer Yukio Yokoyama said, "The number of tour participants using luxury buses has increased significantly in the western Japan area. We feel that there is potential in the wealthy market in the western Japan area." The Osaka store covers the entire western Japan, and Hiroyoshi Tajima, general manager of the Royal Road Ginza department, said, "We will increase package tours departing and arriving in Kansai by two or three times. We are also considering collaborating with department stores that cater to the wealthy." To commemorate the relocation and opening, they have set up their own brand, "Dream Holiday," including a two-night, three-day tour (starting at 448,000 yen) that includes a sightseeing flight along the Shimanami Kaido.
