JTB West Japan, OSK Nippon Revue Company, Shochiku, and Shochiku Geino have teamed up to start performances of "REVUE JAPAN," an entertainment program for foreign visitors to Japan, at the Dotonbori Kadoza Theater in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, from December 15th. The program provides a tourist attraction for foreign tourists staying in Osaka at night. REVUE JAPAN is a non-verbal entertainment program that combines dance with Japanese dance and sword fighting, and features geishas and samurai, so even those who don't understand Japanese can enjoy it. JTB West Japan and OSK held a trial performance for a limited time during the Chinese New Year from late January to early February this year, and after receiving positive reviews, they decided to hold regular performances. A press conference was held at Kadoza Theater on November 30th, and OSK's Nijika Roman, Momoha Hirari, and other performers and related parties attended. Nijika said, "The audience will also get on stage and experience the dance," and OSK President Yoshitaka Yamaguchi spoke of the highlights of the event, saying, "We want to make this a performance that will give them fond memories of Japan." JTB West Japan's Inbound Business Manager Kazuya Moriwaki said, "The number of repeat visitors to Japan is increasing, and there is a growing interest and need for consumption of experiences rather than things. On the other hand, there are currently few places to consume experiences. As a tourist city, we want to liven up Osaka's nightlife and create a night economy to contribute to the region." JTB West Japan has contracted with the local shopping district to manage the Dotonbori area, and is working on tourism development centered on entertainment. The regular Revue Japan performances are part of this effort, and the group will use its overseas bases to promote the show to the world. The performances are held twice a day, from 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The performance lasts about 45 minutes. Tickets are sold at the Kansai Tourist Information Center, which is operated by JTB West Japan and has four locations in Kansai International Airport, Shinsaibashi, and elsewhere. The cost is 3,500 yen (3,000 yen for online purchases). Tickets are already on sale from December 1st.
