The Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA, Chairman: Hiroyuki Takahashi) will hold a "USA Travel Planning Contest" to stimulate overseas travel demand among young people on the occasion of this year's "US-Japan Tourism Exchange Year 2024". Travel plans devised by students will be collected, leading to a revival in the popularity of travel to the US. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the start of passport issuance for tourism purposes and the liberalization of overseas travel, so the contest will be held as an overseas travel symposium. The contest is open to students from universities, junior colleges, and vocational schools nationwide, and they are looking for travel products to the US that will generate and stimulate travel demand to the US from the students' perspective. From the submitted plans, the best plans will be selected after the first and second rounds of judging. Students will hold planning meetings with members of Brand USA and Visit USA Committee Japan to create travel products that can be sold. A public presentation and final judging session will be held at the "Tourism Expo Japan 2024" venue in September to decide the grand prize winner. The grand prize winner will receive a plaque, as well as a travel allowance of up to 500,000 yen to the tourist spot of the winner's choice, and a round-trip economy class ticket from Narita to Honolulu for up to two people. The application period is from June 3rd to July 5th. For more information,https://www.jata-net.or.jp/usa_trip_contest2024/fart.
