Nippon Travel has been selling official tours of the Mongolian locations where the TBS drama Sunday Theatre "VIVANT" was filmed since March 28th. The tours are sure to please VIVANT fans, as they include dinner with Mongolian actors who starred in the drama and a guided tour by an interpreter who accompanied the filming. The August departures were sold out immediately after going on sale and there are cancellations on hold. VIVANT will be broadcast from July to September 2023, and has recorded high ratings thanks to its large-scale filming in Mongolia, its star-studded cast, and its thrilling plot that is hard to predict. In the drama, the location of Khudan, the capital of the Balka Republic, was filmed in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. On the tour, a guide will guide you through the Sukhbaatar Square used as the square for Khudan, the National Drama Theatre that was used as the International Bank of Balka, and the buildings in the Nalaikh district where Nokol confronted six elite troops from a separate unit in episode 7 of the drama, giving you an idea of what the filming was like. During the trip, the participants will be shown behind-the-scenes footage of the drama and participate in a quiz about the drama, with prizes to be given away. The guests will stay at the "Budai Hotel," which was used as the Japanese Embassy in Mongolia for filming, and the "Kumdai East Hotel," where the main character Nogi Yusuke stayed. The dinner party will be attended by the actors who played the roles of Adiel, Genghis, and Jamin in the drama. They will enjoy meals together and will also have time to take photos. Departure dates are July 15th and August 7th, with 30 people being recruited for each date. The August 7th trip has already reached its capacity and there is currently a waiting list for cancellations. The five-day trip, which departs and returns to Narita Airport, costs 299,900 yen (per adult, economy class, two people per room). Nippon Travel Agency says it hopes to contribute to the development of Mongolia's tourism industry through official tours in collaboration with TBS, as the Mongolian government has designated 2023-2025 as the "Visit Mongolia Year" and has set a goal of attracting 100,000 foreign visitors per year.
