JTB (President: Eijiro Yamakita) has teamed up with major distributor H2O Retailing (President: Naoya Araki, H2O) to launch a co-creation project in a regional revitalization business. They will work on developing products that incorporate the charms of various parts of Japan and creating mechanisms to promote travel, aiming to create a new regional revitalization model. The project aims to "maximize regional value and realize a sustainable local community." The two companies are working together to create products and experience content that allow people to experience the charms of the region, with the Kansai region as the target area. H2O has the trust and network that it has cultivated in the region for many years, while JTB has the know-how and track record in creating exchanges and related populations, and creating content for inbound tourists and local residents. The two companies will work together to combine their strengths. Specifically, they plan to provide Kansai residents with a career and economic experience that combines tourism, commerce, and education in the region; implement a "Kids Job Challenge"; and develop and test premium content that allows foreign visitors to experience the things and manufacturing in the Senshu area of Osaka Prefecture and communicate with local people. In the future, the company plans to expand the circle of co-creation with the aim of creating exchanges between people, things, and events both within and outside the region, and revitalizing the region by utilizing the "places" where attractions gather. It plans to expand its exchange creation business that spreads throughout the region, with department stores, supermarkets, and other stores as hubs, expand the scope of the Kids Job Challenge, and increase the number of co-creation partners.
