The Japan Tour Conducting Service Association (TCSA) will hold this year's "TCSA Inbound Examination" on December 14th. This is the fourth time the examination has been held, and both beginner and intermediate levels will be held. An introductory course will be held before the exam, and by setting up a place for advance study, the aim is to encourage a wider range of people to take the exam. The examination is conducted with the aim of improving the knowledge and skills of staff who work to support the travel of foreign tourists visiting Japan. There are three levels of certification: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. There are no eligibility requirements for the beginner level, and it can be taken by a wide range of people, including students and those interested in inbound work. The beginner level tests understanding of advance preparation, attendance at the time of entry, transfer support, and accompanying work, as well as the knowledge, skills, and practical skills required for inbound work. The intermediate level, which will be held for the first time, tests the skills to carry out inbound work according to the itinerary, and the ability to utilize the knowledge, skills, and practical skills required for inbound work in actual work, and is required to be a core inbound staff in the industry. The examination will be held in five areas: Sapporo, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka. The test will take place from 2:00pm to 3:20pm and will last 80 minutes. Test fees are 5,500 yen for the beginner level and 7,700 yen for the intermediate level, with a 2,200 yen discount for regular and supporting members of the association. Applications to take the test are open until November 8th. The introductory course will be taken via e-learning, widening the scope of the test to include inbound business workers and those interested in inbound business across the country.
