Hankyu Travel International (President: Jun Sakai) launched a tour planned by industry-government-academia collaboration in collaboration with Nihon University's College of International Relations and Mishima City Tourism Association (Shizuoka Prefecture) on August 22nd. The tour is a two-day tour of Mt. Fuji and eels packed with the charms of Mishima, departing from Tokyo. With the cooperation of travel agencies, local residents, and students, the tour conveys the charms of Mishima to travelers. Mishima City has the appeal of being easily accessible and having nature, but as a tourist destination, it has the challenge of being a stopover. With this challenge as a backdrop, students of Associate Professor Toshiaki Yajima, who is studying regional revitalization using tourism as a material in Mishima City, planned the tour with the advice of the tourism association. They walked around Mishima City and based the basic plan they created, they discussed it with the tourism association and Hankyu Travel International, and made adjustments within the region to commercialize it. The tour is implemented in collaboration with the three parties, creating repeat visitors to Mishima and increasing the number of people visiting the area. The tour is two days long and one night, departing on December 1st. The tour is packed with the charms of Mishima, including an eel lunch, a high-quality confectionery-making experience, a formal visit to Mishima Taisha Shrine, a stroll through the city, a carrot-harvesting experience, and the Mishima Skywalk. Students are in charge of bus tours and guiding, as well as serving local sake and Shizuoka tea in the hotel lounge. The students also gained a social learning experience, such as service provision, and a report session was held after the tour ended, with the aim of continuing to offer sustainable tours with Mishima as a destination in the future. The price is 39,900 yen. For more information,https://www.hankyu-travel.com/tour/detail_d.php?p_course_id=35210&p_hei=10&p_baitai=9582fart.
