KNT-CT Holdings (President: Maruyama Takashi) held a board meeting on October 26th and formally resolved to split up a regional travel agency in the Tokyo metropolitan area and Kanto region and a web-only company as part of the ongoing business restructuring. It was also decided that the splitting company, Kinki Nippon Tourist Individual Travel (KNT Individual), will be absorbed into Club Tourism (CT) after the split. This spin-off and merger of KNT Individual and CT is the second organizational restructuring following the establishment of a travel-only company in Chubu, Kansai, and inbound travel in October. Kinki Nippon Tourist (KNT) and KNT Individual will be split up, and the new company will be the successor company. KNT Individual will cease to exist as a result of the merger with CT. The tour conductor-accompanied tour creation business that remains in KNT Individual after the split will be taken over by CT. As both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of KNT-CT, there will be no allocation of shares or increase in capital. The merger will take place on April 1, 2018. The new companies are Kinki Nippon Tourist Metropolitan Area, Kinki Nippon Tourist Kanto, and KNT-CT Web Travel. All of them will take over the area-based travel business and web sales division of KNT and KNT Individual. All three companies will be established on November 1st, and will be split off on April 1st, 2018.
