The catchphrase for Setouchi and Sanin, a seasonal Japanese destination, is "Two seas and a comfortable travel destination. The sea, mountains, towns, food, history, and the time you spend here are five stars." A lineup of product plans for individuals, groups, and travel to Japan has been created based on the various attractions of the area, such as the Sea of Japan and the Seto Inland Sea, historical townscapes, and food. Among them, Hiroyuki Ohkoda, president of JTB Chugoku-Shikoku, listed the following as the highlight products for each of the five prefectures: a "Tower Summit" tour to climb the 175-meter-tall main tower of the Kita-Bisan Seto Bridge (Okayama Prefecture); a chartered cruise to the Miyajima Underwater Fireworks Festival, which will be realized by dispatching ships from Shimonoseki and Imabari (Hiroshima Prefecture); the Yamaguchi Spectacular Scenery Enjoyment Bus (Yamaguchi Prefecture), which stops at Motonosumi Inari Shrine and Tsunoshima Bridge, which are popular with tourists from overseas; a nighttime charter plan for Matsue Castle, a national treasure, where you can enjoy the night view from the castle tower and green tea (Shimane Prefecture); and a stargazing tour of Mt. Daisen, which celebrates its 1,300th anniversary this year and claims to be the "Star-Tori Prefecture" (Tottori Prefecture). In particular, the Yamaguchi Spectacular Scenery Enjoyment Bus is an attempt to "connect the Sanyo region, including Hiroshima, where half of the inbound tourists visiting the Setouchi and San'in areas visit, with the Sea of Japan, and create a trend for inbound travel to Japan." He expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We will sell it as added value that OTAs do not have." JTB, the ace of individual travel, has created five types of tour coupons to solidify the exchange axis between the north and south of Setouchi and Sanin, and will also issue coupons for free sweets for tourists who travel to two or more prefectures under the name of the Local Sweets Grand Prix. For group travel, they will set up and propose "contents that create group demand," such as team building at the Tottori Sand Dunes and chartered cruises on the passenger ship Gantu, which was launched last year.
