On May 13, Kinki Nippon Tourist Kansai (President: Shusaku Mita) held the "Hawaii Festival" event at Grand Front Osaka in Kita-ku, Osaka City to promote travel to Hawaii. Despite the bad weather, about 300 people attended, and the company promoted the appeal of Hawaii travel, which can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from weddings to family trips. This was the first time the company had held a Hawaiian event. As a "travel agency that caters to the lifestyles of its customers, from the cradle to the end of life," (according to a company representative), the company proposed Hawaii travel as a symbolic travel destination. In addition to setting up a travel consultation corner and a ukulele lesson workshop, the event also featured a talk show by Matsunaga Maki and Yuki, a married couple who travel around the world in wedding attire and post pictures on social media. During the talk show, the couple gave specific instructions on how to take photos, such as "deciding on a pose" and "being thorough." The appeal of Hawaii, which has a wealth of photo spots, was also conveyed. Tatsuya Sugimoto of the Kansai Overseas Planning Center explained the reason for hiring the two, saying, "They are now uploading photos they have taken overseas with their children to social media. This matches the image of overseas travel that we want to propose."
