Kanki Travel Service (Sumiyoshi-ku, Osaka, President Yoshimura Minoru), which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, held a commemorative tour called "Kyo Omi and Flower Viewing" on July 20-21, with the theme of "flowers" to add color to the milestone year. 60 people participated. On the 20th, the group viewed koquiya and lilies at Hakodateyama in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, went shopping at the roadside station Biwako Ohashi Rice Plaza in Otsu City, and had a dinner banquet at Biwako Grand Hotel Kyo Omi. At the banquet, President Yoshimura looked back on the past 30 years, saying, "We started the travel business in 1988 (Showa 63) and have continued the company through the Heisei era." He expressed his gratitude, saying, "We have been able to reach this day thanks to everyone's support," as 60% of companies have disappeared in the 10 years since the company was founded. He also mentioned the origin of the company name, saying, "It is often said that the name Kanki Travel has many characters, but I hear that the word Kanki means sharing joy. We named it not because of personal joy, but because we wanted to share joy together with all of you who have joined us today." As a travel agency rooted in the community, the company has been supported by customers such as local social and welfare groups. President Yoshimura said, "The trips we propose cannot be processed by computers. I think they can be created through human interaction. We hope to continue our long-term relationship with you on the occasion of our 30th anniversary." After the employee introductions, those who wanted to join the tour had a karaoke contest where they showed off their singing voices. The closing remarks were made by Tetsuo Maeda, President Yoshimura's teacher from elementary school. He called President Yoshimura "Mi-yan" when he was in elementary school, and gave a wonderful performance of Beethoven's famous piece, "Ode to Joy," from his Ninth Symphony, to cheer on the company.
