The Nara Prefecture Association of Travel Agents (Chairman Yoshikazu Nakagawa) will launch a youth division. At a joint roundtable discussion held on September 12th in Kashihara City by the Business Committee (Chairman Osamu Ikeda, Ikoma Tourist), it was confirmed that they will work towards launching a youth division by next year's general meeting of the association. 28 people participated in the roundtable discussion, which was themed on "The outlook for the travel industry as viewed by young managers and employees." This was the first time that all the young managers and employees of the association gathered together. Chairman Nakagawa said, "I want young people to gather and sow various seeds within the association. I will make an effort to make those seeds bloom as executives." He then asked the young members of the association to come up with ideas to revitalize the association and the travel industry. Chairman Ikeda said, "By providing a forum for young people to talk, I would like to discuss how the travel industry can survive in a rapidly changing environment." He called on them to remove the barriers between managers and employees and to openly discuss their hopes, fears and worries as fellow workers in the travel industry. After this, the association officials moved to another room, leaving only the young members, and deepened their exchanges while talking about their individual businesses. They confirmed that they would continue to hold such gatherings on a regular basis in the future, and agreed to link this to the establishment of a youth division.
