On July 10th, the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA, Chairman Takahashi Hiroyuki) announced the winners of the Tour Grand Prix 2024, which recognizes outstanding travel plans. The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award, which is the grand prize, was awarded to Amekaze Taiyo's "Pokemaru Parent and Child Regional Study Abroad." The awards ceremony was held on the same day at the All Nippon Express Kasumigaseki Building (Tokyo). This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Tour Grand Prix. The awards were given to proposals for packaged overseas and domestic tours and trips to Japan that took place between April 2011 and March 2012. The proposals were judged on their originality, business viability, and contribution to the industry by a committee chaired by Yoshiaki Honpo, Representative of the United Nations World Tourism Organization in Japan, and the awards were decided. In addition to the Grand Prix, the Japan Tourism Agency Commissioner's Award in the domestic travel category went to JR East View Tourism & Sales' cage-free train "Wonderful TRAIN" - Enjoy a trip to Izu Kogen with your dog, in the international travel category went to JTB's "Japan-Korea Mirai♡Project: 4 days in Seoul," and in the inbound travel category went to JTB Global Marketing & Travel's "Creating a new flow of visitors to Japan by building a Hokuriku Rainbow Route to achieve sustainable tourism." Barrier-free Haneda Airport & JAL SKY MUSEUM/hangar tour"; International travel category - Kinki Nippon Tourist "Barrier-free travel companions - 9-day Alaska/US stay in Denali National Park with yellow leaves and a stay at Chena Hot Springs Resort to view the aurora"; Mitsukoshi Isetan Nikko Travel "Mitsukoshi 350th anniversary special project: Versailles Palace dinner trip with menu supervised by Alain Ducasse"; Inbound travel category - T.E.S. "Spring cross-island tour of Japan that can be enjoyed by first-time visitors to Japan and repeat visitors alike"
