Total transaction amounts for major travel agencies in June, as compiled by the Japan Tourism Agency, were 291,663 million yen, down 26.6% compared to the same month in 2019. This continues to be below 2019 levels, but was higher than the previous year. Domestic travel was down 19.4% to 176,591 million yen, also below the previous year's figure. Overseas travel was down 37.3% to 99,953 million yen, continuing the recovery trend. Travel by foreigners was down 20.1% to 15,119 million yen, remaining at the same level as the previous year. Of the 43 companies, eight exceeded the figures for the same month in 2019.
