The Chugoku-Shikoku branch of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) will hold a series of seminars in Hiroshima City soon after the New Year in 2018. The seminars are aimed at both inside and outside the industry, and many participants are being invited. The "JATA Overseas Cultural Lecture" will be held on January 20th. The seminar will be held in conjunction with "Hiroshima Sky Travel! 18," one of the largest travel events in Hiroshima Prefecture, and will provide an overview and explanation of overseas cultures and travel markets. Three lectures will be given: (1) "The Diverse and Rich Mediterranean World" by Professor Masaki Uno of the International Studies Department of Hiroshima City University; (2) "Sports is a Passport to the World/Emotions and Discoveries" by Professor Hiroyuki Hamaguchi of the Sports Management Department of Hiroshima University of Economics; and (3) "The Future of the Cruise Market as Seen in the Current State of Japan and the World" by Tokumasa Kojima, General Manager of the Japan Office of Cunard Line. The seminar will be held at the Tatemachi Campus of Hiroshima University of Economics in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City. The "Travel Industry Research Seminar" for students will be held on February 23rd at Hiroshima Green Arena in Naka-ku, Hiroshima. The seminar will introduce the attractions of the industry to university and vocational school students hoping to find employment at a travel agency. There will be a lecture by Kinki Nippon Tourist Chugoku-Shikoku President Senba Seigo on "The Future of the Travel Industry," as well as a panel discussion featuring panelists from major travel agencies and a section where practical staff will talk about the attractions of the travel industry.
