The Kyoto Prefecture Travel Industry Association (Chairman: Fumiaki Oike, COMS) held its regular general meeting on June 13th at ANA Crowne Plaza Kyoto in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City. Chairman Oike mentioned the amendment to the Travel Industry Law in January this year, and explained the "All Kyoto Tourist Bus Project" as an independent project of the association. The project was launched to address various issues related to chartered buses, such as boarding and disembarking points, and is participating in the "Network Conference for Countermeasures against Road Congestion for Tourist Buses" held by Kyoto City. The association will continue to work out the best way to use chartered buses in Kyoto. In July 2016, the association moved its office from the Kyoto Prefecture Small and Medium Enterprise Hall to the Kyoto Research Park, but has decided to move again in January 2019. The new office will be the Kyoto Economic Center (tentative name), which will be completed in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, where commercial facilities are concentrated and which is the center of the Kyoto economy. In addition, it was approved that the Kyoto Prefecture Travel Industry Association will take over the business of Zentabi Co., Ltd. as a receiving organization from the Kyoto Prefecture Travel Industry Association from fiscal 2018. The association will consider whether to create a new receiving organization in the future.
