The Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) will hold a "Joint Sky Lantern Raising Special Tourism Event" in collaboration with the Taiwan Tourism Bureau on October 26th and 27th. Following on from last year, the event will provide a fantastic experience at the New Pingxi Coal Mine Museum Park in Pingxi District, New Taipei City. The aim is to encourage more people to visit Taiwan and stimulate overseas travel demand. Travel agencies that handle Taiwan tours will participate, mainly from the Taiwan Working Group members of the East Asia Division of the JATA Outbound Promotion Council. Each company will be selling tour products. At the venue, "Taiwan Sky Lantern Raising" will be released into the sky, creating a fantastic space. This event involves writing wishes on paper lanterns and releasing them into the sky using the same principle as a hot air balloon. It is known as the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival, which is held on the lunar New Year. This was planned as a special event that allows people from Japan to participate through a tour.
