Kinki Nippon Tourist Kansai (KNT Kansai, President: Mita Shusaku) will open a satellite office of its Kyoto branch in Wazuka-cho, Kyoto Prefecture, known for its production of Japanese tea, this March. The office will be a base for various regional revitalization initiatives in collaboration with Wazuka-cho (Mayor Hori Tadao). The office will be located in Wazuka-cho Smart Work in Residence, a co-working space developed by the town. Wazuka-cho was designated a Japan Heritage Site in 2015 and is a member of the Most Beautiful Villages in Japan Association. The office will demonstrate the functionality of the satellite office and develop destination-based travel that makes use of the town's tourism resources. The company has already launched cycling plans and tea experience plans created by group companies Tea Gate and Play Life, and is working to develop new customers visiting Wazuka-cho.
