The Tourism Expo Japan, which will be held in September and is sponsored by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association, the Japan Association of Travel Agents, and the Japan National Tourism Organization, is now accepting submissions for the Japan Tourism Awards 2018, which recognize outstanding travel products and initiatives that contribute to regional revitalization. This will be the fourth time the awards have been held. The awards are divided into two categories, "Domestic/Inbound Japan" and "Overseas," with categories for "Business," "Region," and "Media." Last year, Abe Cho Shoten and Minamisanriku Hotel Kanyo's "Storytelling Bus to Keep the Disaster Memories Alive" was selected as the Grand Prize winner. A judging committee, chaired by Yoshiaki Motobo, Representative of the World Tourism Organization's Japan Liaison Office, will review the entries and decide on the winners based on pioneering spirit and creativity, sustainability and development, and sociality. The deadline for submissions must be received by May 31st.
