Recruit Lifestyle has compiled travel trends for the summer vacation (July 14th - August 31st) based on the hotel reservation status of the travel website "Jalan.net". The popularity of the top three, Hokkaido, Okinawa Prefecture, and Tokyo, remains unchanged. With the increase in expenses, it looks like it will be a decent summer. Hokkaido, ranked first in the popular travel destination ranking, attracts people in the order of Sapporo, Hakodate, and Lake Toya, but one of the reasons for its popularity is that tourist spots are scattered throughout the prefecture. Okinawa Prefecture, which comes in second, is topped by the remote islands that have been popular recently. Following them are Tokyo, Shizuoka Prefecture, Chiba Prefecture, Osaka Prefecture, Nagano Prefecture, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Hyogo Prefecture, with Aichi Prefecture ranked 10th. With the opening of new facilities and hotels, such as the opening of Nagoya Castle Honmaru Palace in June, it seems that the prefecture has gained strength. Compared to the previous year, the average travel cost has risen in the budget range for both overnight trips and day trips. For overnight trips, the proportion of people spending 50,000 yen or more has increased significantly from 19.2% last year to 26.9% this year. However, the proportion of low-budget trips has decreased across the board. For day trips, the top budget range has increased from 5,000-10,000 yen last year to 10,000-20,000 yen this year, showing a noticeable increase in costs. The peak of congestion is Mountain Day on August 11, the first day of Obon, which tends to be busier than last year. As in last year, travel is concentrated in August during the Obon period. In addition, when asked "Do you use SNS as a reference for your trip?", about 40% answered that they use SNS, with "very helpful" and "helpful," combined. Of these, 63.6% are in their 20s and 50.4% are in their 30s, meaning one in two people use SNS, and even 36.5% of people in their 50s use SNS as a reference across a wide range of generations, and it has already become an established means of obtaining information. The trends are calculated based on the number of people staying at "Jalan.net" reservations as of June 8th, compared to the same period last year. The survey was conducted in May among men and women aged 20-69 nationwide, receiving 2,109 responses.
