HIS has compiled a summary of domestic travel booking trends for the summer vacation (July 14th - September 30th). In addition to the usual strength in classic travel destinations, spots where you can experience the seasons and topics of conversation are gaining popularity. Okinawa remains the most popular domestic travel destination, as it was last year. The stargazing tours that started this year and tours that incorporate the Irabu Bridge in Miyakojima are doing well. In second place is Hokkaido, with the popularity of central Hokkaido's Furano, Biei, and Tomamu outpacing Okinawa in growth rate. In third place is Kyushu, and in fourth place is Chugoku and Shikoku. In the ranking of most popular rail tours, Kyoto comes in first. Popular spots include the hidden spot "Horinji no Butai" that offers a panoramic view of Arashiyama, and dining on the Kamogawa no Ryoko, a seasonal summer feature. In second place is the classic Tokyo, in third place is Hokuriku, which has established its popularity since the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, and in fourth place is Kanagawa and Hakone. The ranking of summer vacation activities is focused on ocean experiences in Okinawa. Snorkeling is ranked first for both domestic and inbound travelers, followed by SUP (stand-up paddle board) in second place for domestic travelers and canoeing and kayaking for inbound travelers. In particular, Miyakojima is expected to attract more visitors from Asia with the opening of the international terminal, and the demand for local activity experiences will increase (company company). In the ranking of bus tours, seasonal spectacular views and gourmet food are popular for those departing from the Tokyo metropolitan area. In first place was Yamanashi Prefecture's "Akeno Sunflower Fields and Kiyosato Terrace," in second place was Nagano Prefecture's "Shinshu Shine Muscat and Peach Picking," and in third place was Yamanashi Prefecture's "Koshu Wine Beef Steak Rice and Mt. Fuji Fifth Station." For those departing from Kansai, the most popular were Kobe beef yakiniku lunch in Hyogo Prefecture, Matsusaka beef yakiniku in Mie Prefecture, and all-you-can-eat white peach gelato in Okayama Prefecture, showing that food-seeking trips are booming. The survey was based on reservation status as of June 25th.
