Hankyu Travel International (President: Jun Sakai) announced the group's consolidated financial results for fiscal year 2023 on May 14. Sales increased 13.3% year-on-year to 216,915 million yen, and operating profit decreased 67.4% year-on-year to 4,968 million yen. Demand for travel, especially in Japan, recovered smoothly, but due to a decrease in orders for COVID-19-related work, the solutions business fell below the previous year's level, and operating profit fell below the previous year's level. Domestic travel has strengthened sales as demand for travel from the COVID-19 pandemic has recovered. Sales exceeded the previous year's level, thanks to efforts such as the development of high-value-added products such as private event tours for fireworks and autumn leaf illuminations, sales through TV shopping, and sales to commemorate the victory of the professional baseball team Hanshin Tigers. As for overseas travel, recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic has been slow due to the weak yen and high prices. In the midst of this, sales to Asian destinations, including Korea and Taiwan, where the supply of airline seats had recovered, were strengthened, and sales of cruises departing from and arriving in Japan, as well as sales to Europe, the United States, Central and South America, and Africa were actively pursued, leading to a recovery in the second half of the year. Demand for travel to Japan also recovered, and the group also focused on new business areas such as call center operations, immigration assistance at airports, and support for local governments in times of disaster. The group consists of three companies: Hankyu Travel International, Hankyu Hanshin Business Travel, and Hankyu Travel Support.
