According to a survey by the Japan Tourism Agency, total transaction amounts for major travel agencies in March were 421.18 billion yen, down 6.1% compared to the same month in 2019. It has recovered to pre-COVID levels. Domestic travel increased 11.8% to 280.682 billion yen. Although it exceeded 2019 figures, it was down 36.1% compared to the previous year. Overseas travel was down 33.1% to 116.666 billion yen, showing a gradual recovery. Travel by foreigners increased 4.0% to 23.832 billion yen. Of the 43 companies, seven exceeded the same month in 2019.
